THE BREAD OF LIFE

JN.6:34-36
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

MEMORY VERSE:
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (Jn.6:35)

Bread is food. Bread satisfies. Bread refreshes and strengthens the body physically. During the wilderness journey, God was careful enough to supply to Israel with the required amount of daily bread so that they will have enough strength to walk through the wilderness. Most of the evils we see today in our world, is as a result of men’s quest for their daily bread. Unfortunately, no one ever has enough of this bread because, man is naturally greedy and selfish.

The Jews of Jesus days were so happy and excited that they did not have to work or toil yet, they had enough bread to eat and to spare. Their response to this wonderful provision was to forcefully enthrone Jesus so that daily bread can flow everyday unhindered. This is exactly the response of our generation to the issue of daily bread and sustenance. They can do unthinkable things of life. But from our focal scripture today, we see that Jesus has a different opinion. He is bread of life, those who seek Him will be eternally satisfied. Physically, bread can only sustain the physical body but the bread of life will sustain the body, spirit, and the soul of man. The satisfaction that Jesus gives is unique. He satisfies your longings, creates contentment in your inner man and sustains you in the midst of pains. I, here, so pray that JESUS CHRIST feed our nation Nigeria with this Bread of Life that we may have Him always in the affairs of our great country! God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria! HAPPY 58TH INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA!

TURNING POINT:
Physically, bread can only sustain the physical body but the bread of life will sustain the spirit.

PRAYER:
Lord, feed our nation Nigeria, me with this bread of life and direct the paths of our leaders.
